Greenland (DK)

Coordinators: Claus Rasmussen and Martin Thorsøe, AU

In Greenland, there will be carried out surveys of pollinating insects, especially flies (Diptera) of shrubs such as rock cranberry and blueberry, but also crowberry and cloudberry, that produce berries which are an important source of food for both wildlife and indigenous communities. This supplements the work that Claus Rasmussen has performed on pollination networks in Eastern Greenland and will now expand to include the more populated parts of Western Greenland. In addition to this, research will include the societal value of pollination and dependence on pollinators in two sites in Western Greenland.
